Jessop Jewellers is a legacy jewelry brand from Scotland, UK that has evolved from a small repair shop in Glenrothes to a multi-brand, independent jewelry store, now doing business with a thriving e-commerce store.
What started 50 years ago as a small watch-and-jewelry repair shop, evolved as a big jewelry store with a catalogue of finest bespoke jewelry. Jessop Jewellers do business in legion with reputed jewelry and watch brands like Pandora, Swarovski, BOSS, and Les Georgettes.

Project Execution

The Challenges

The Shopify store of Jessop Jewellers was outdated. The biggest challenge that came with an upgrade was synchronizing their client inventory management system (BSMART) with the new Shopify versions.

Also, due to unwanted, bulky design elements, the loading speed of the store was hampered, leading to lags and increased bounce rates. So, it was tough for the store to offer a smooth buyer’s journey and maintain a hassle-free checkout flow. The absence of category texts and keywords also reduced the chances of search engine rankings to a minimum.

The Solutions

SoftProdigy built a customized and comprehensive Shopify theme that helped us optimize the store’s frontend. Besides, we integrated the mega menu and tested design mock-ups to boost engagement, page loading speed, decrease the bounce rate, and increase the authorization rate.

It helped improve the buyer’s journey and checkout flow. We also worked on cart optimization, added category texts, and worked on improving the overall look and feel of the store. In the end, the entire store was optimized for better search engine rankings.

How We Made it Work

Custom Shopify Theme

The first big task that we worked on was building the custom Shopify theme and its successful integration for BSMART synchronization.

Minimal Web Design

We also looked into their product catalogues and integrated payment gateways. The design team simultaneously worked on introducing a minimal design to improve the page loading speed and deliver a better buyer’s journey to users.

Search Engine Optimization

The marketing and SEO team optimized the website for better search engine rankings, more conversions, and better reach. This ultimately helped the client achieve the desired results.
