After the much talked about Windows 10, Microsoft today announced a bunch of new hardware running on Windows 10. Terry Myerson, Windows team head, as a presenter introduced Microsoft Surface products, a wearable, high-end smartphones, its first Windows 10 laptop, and Windows 10 for the Xbox One.
The major attraction of the event was the laptop called Surface Book, something all Microsoft faithful(s) were waiting for ever since Windows 10 was released.
Windows 10, being already operating on 110 million PCs, is now targeting one billion devices by 2018. There’s also news that Facebook will be developing multiple apps for the platforms that will improve social media functionality of all Windows 10 users.
The Surface Book, which earlier came as a tablet, comes with a twist. It’s kind of hybrid tablet that offers laptop features and is detachable. User can now pull the pieces apart and use it as a standalone tablet. The Surface Pro 4 is however the real deal. It’s the thinnest Surface Pro to date and fits a larger screen into the space as compared to Surface Pro 3.
In the smartphone range, Microsoft launched two flagship devices Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. The phone and phablet come with octacore and hexacore processors along with liquid cooling technology. In addition to Windows 10 on mobiles, Microsoft has introduced several updated features on their previous Lumia series.
Microsoft also announced a HoloLens, a wearable Band 2, and Xbox One in the event. You can read more about its features here.
